This is a systems thinking role that manages the business revenue operating system. That includes managing tools and processes that reduce the friction for sales or the e-commerce process and, ideally, lead to better repeatable revenue.
The role requires a strong understanding of data and data management; therefore, many in this role are comfortable in spreadsheets. They leverage spreadsheets to keep track of key metrics, integrate data for team reports, get a unified view of the customer, and prototype customer segments or hypothesis.
This role, often, reports up to whomever owns Revenue and Sales.
